2023 South African Rally-Raid Championship: Exciting Season Ahead with Challenging Terrain and Popular Events
The 2023 South African Rally-Raid Championship is set to be an exciting season with a variety of challenging terrain and popular events on the calendar. The championship will kick off with a return to Malelane in Mpumalanga on March 24th and 25th, an event that was twice awarded Best Event of the Year between 2013 and 2016.
Round two will take place in the Eston and Mid-Illovo areas of KwaZulu-Natal for the traditional Sugarbelt 400 on May 12th and 13th. After a three-year hiatus, the TGRSA 1000 Desert Race will return to the diamond-mining town of Jwaneng for Round Three on June 23rd, 24th, and 25th. This will be the only marathon event on the calendar.
Round Four and Five will take place at Parys in the Free State on August 18th and 19th, followed by a new event in Welkom in the Free State on October 6th and 7th. The venue for the seventh and final event of the season, scheduled for November 10th and 11th, will be announced soon. With exhilarating racing and titles that went down to the wire in 2022, competitors, teams, supporters, and enthusiasts can look forward to yet another exciting South African Rally-Raid Championship season.
