Basic Marshal Kit – Bridgestone

Basic Marshal Kit for marshals that attend Bridgestone 4×4 Club Challenge events.

 

1. Recommended Personal Equipment

 

1.1. Own transport (although a 4×4 is not a must, the need to travel from your point to the next might be required).

1.2. GPS (and the knowledge how to use it).

1.3. Marshal Bib.

1.4. Cotton Shirt (with collar for sun protection).(If the sponsors of an event supply a shirt, you must use it, other wise use your marshal unit or club shirt).

1.5. Jeans (recommended – long legged to protect against the elements and vegetation).

1.6. Hat (recommended – wide rim similar to cricket hats for protection against the sun).

1.7. Boots (recommended – ankle height for uneven terrain), a pair of wellingtons as extra shoes is recommended for wet conditions).

1.8. Gazebo, awning or large umbrella to provide shade and protection from the rain.

1.9. Table & chairs

1.10. Fire extinguisher (serviced).

1.11. Comprehensive first aid kit including protective sun lotion and insect repellent.

1.12. Food and drink.

1.13. Drinking water for personal use (do have more than enough as competitors might request water when stranded at your point).

1.14. Basic tool set and spares for personal vehicle including a pair of pliers and a side cutter.

1.15. Basic camping equipment.

1.16. Wate disposal bag.

1.17. Shovel (doing the cat thing)

1.18. Toilet paper (apart from the obvious use, you can mark a suitable helicopter landing site by means of a white cross).

1.19. Sufficient fuel.

1.20. Recovery kit.

1.21. Torch.

1.22. Rag and bucket (washing hands, cleaning tick mark sticker, etc.).

1.23. Duct tape.

1.24. High lighters.

1.25. Pens and Pencils.

1.26. Note pad.

1.27. Stop watch that can time hours, minutes and seconds.

1.28. Whistle.

1.29. Sequence sheets.

1.30. Incident Forms.

1.31. Clip boards – at least two.

1.32. Hammer (at least a 4 pound or sliding hammer).
