Marshall training and social weekend – 13 to 15 Jan 2017
The marshall training and social weekend was held at Iquana, home of the 4×4 Action Group on the weekend of 13 to 15 January 2017.
As quoted by Bridgestone who attended the event:
“Behind the scenes look at our marshal training:
We were invited to the Bridgestone marshals training day held at IQUANA Dinokeng Game Reserve, home of the 4×4 Action Group, 4×4 club, this past weekend. Thanks to the Action Group for hosting the marshals and their great hospitality.
The morning was based on a safety briefing covering safe recoveries, different recovery gear and the uses thereof. This was followed by a demonstration of a shackle breaking loose from a vehicle and becoming an extremely dangerous missile.
Sakkie proceeded to demonstrate the dangers of a hi-lift jack, where most of us think its an safe recovery option, watch out for the videos soon and you decide.
Later Hannes the covered all aspects of Marshall duties and ran few a few rules in more detail. Discussions and more clearance was debated and a lot of different topics, especially on what is a stop and what is not.
Thank you to the marshals whom attended and thank you for taking the time to improve your skills and knowledge.
Bridgestone 4×4 Club Championship 2017 and in its 10th year, we look forward to it.”
